Dr. Bhushan Lohar

Assistant Professor
Systems Engineering

Research Interests

Research interests include Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), model-based architectural patterns for complex systems, uncrewed systems (UxS) including aerial, ground, surface, and underwater
vehicles, and the development of SmallSats and CubeSats. Additional areas of focus involve the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Digital Twin technologies for system design and lifecycle management, requirements engineering and management, as well as Integration, Verification, Validation, and Testing (IVVT) of advanced engineering systems. Research also extends to space systems engineering and the use of model-based approaches to improve design assurance, traceability, and performance optimization across multi-domain systems.
